Downloaded the new AVG from Demon***. As anti-virus's go, it's ok. It fucked with MSN, IE and Skype. I don't use IE much (Just to log into GMX.) but being without Skype and MSN was a nuiscance.
You'd also think a repuatble company, such as AVG would test their products enough to ensure that programmes like MSN and IE which are used by one billion + are compatible with their software.
It's fine for me since I paid (Jack.) for it, but for someone who earns fuck all and spends £30/£40/$60/$70 on an anti-virus and realises they can't use their favourite programmes it's a pain in the arse.
Not only that but I read through the advice AVG are giving to 'customers' experiencing the same problem as myself. The advice is shit. I followed the instructions word-for-word.
Did it help? God forbid.

As well as 'test-driving' various programmes I also realised a flaw in Anglo-American financial transactions via a Visa card.
This is quite interesting.
In the UK when you purchase something online you are required to give the following.
- Your cards respective CVV.
- Matching addresses.
...And several other things.
A lot of sites in the States don't require the CVV.
Not only that but they also don't require a matching address too.
So I could obtain a UK Visa number, (Not at all difficult.) sell it to a customer over the pond who requires no other details than the actual Visa number and expiration date.
It is worth mentioning something.
Not all sites only require a Visa # and not all sites can be bluffed by any old address. It's generally speaking the more reputable companies which require more information, which isn't surprising.

In the extract of my PDF that was published on Rorta.Net I talked about machines which could convert notes into coinage. It's useful for the sake of money laundering, because no one wants to fiddle with stolen notes which might have had their serial numbers recorded.
I found an interesting thing about these machines.
Often enough, they'll accept a damaged note which wouldn't be accepted in a store or bank, because it's damaged.

I've got a lot more to post, but it's time and carpel tunnel* which prevent me from doing so.
*Jokes.
AVG works fine for me, bro.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I don't use IE or MSN. Even though, I'm sure you can add these to some kind of exceptions list.
AVG does have an exception list which has MSN on it. I tried fiddling with it, but to no avail.
